This was my first attempt at Cross Stitching. I got interested in stitching by watching my friend Cheryl doing some and I wanted to do something similar with my hands. I stitched this kit during the summer of 1999, even taking it with me when we went on holiday to see (or as the case was not see) the Cornish Eclipse of August 11, 1999. I remember getting stuck in traffic on the way back home, a horrendous 12-hour journey (we've done it in 4 and a half hours before), but on the plus side, I did manage to get almost a whole bear stitched! Now that I look back at this piece of sewing now, I'm really conscious of the mistakes I made like using the wrong blue on the striped bear's shirt, having my stitches go every which way they could, and finally I've now learnt to wash my sewing if it gets a bit grubby! LOL |
